Blackie Blogg-Festival Delights!

Wow, what a weekend it's been. Oxegen on Saturday and T-In The Park on Sunday, both unbelievable crowds. It's not that often after playing 100's of shows that you get carried away by the crowd reaction to that extent, but I think we were tearing through some of those songs simply on pure adrenaline after walking out to such reactions. We were all made up to be back over in this neck of the woods and have such a great reception so thanks to everyone who came.
Checked out some other cool stuff whilst walking round during the day, The Magic Numbers at T, we played a show recently in the States with these guys, you couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people & they are indeed a great live band. The Go Team were pretty damn crazy, I'm sure they're popping something in their tea, I think it's the same stuff that Tom has before he goes onstage, but all six of them have been at it, very entertaining & very energetic. The Who seemed to be doing a good job, I can't say I'm the worlds greatest Who fan, I like their hits I guess, but they definately still do their music justice & in good humour.
Hope there's plenty of you coming out to the Latitude Festival this weekend, if you can match the crowds of this past weekend it'll be a very happy band infront of you.

Hey up man :-)

I was there yesterday in king tuts to see the show at T, absolutely fantastic! I managed to get down to the front (five rows back, right in front of big ben)

I could see by the expressions on everyone of your faces that you were buzzing, adrenaline rules! I managed to give tom a wave before he hopped onto the mini bus afterwards. The poor guy didn't seem to know if he was coming or going. When tom took a wee shot of your bass and you lifted the acoustic and took to the front you looked like you where in a little world of your own. I don't believe i've seen you all grin so hard during a show, that was worth the ticket money alone :-D

Take it easy man and i'll see you later on in the year (Coughs *barrowlands* Coughs) ;-P

P.S....Wish Mr everett a happy birthday from me and the forum family :-)

Regards
Brian

I was the world's biggest who fan for the longest time -- it's fun to see some current faves (Gomez, Rose Hill Drive) intersecting with them today. Glad they've kept a sense of humor through it all.

Just saw the guys playing at the Oxegen festival. Absolutely fantastic. Such a brilliant gig, with a fantastic atmosphere. They played a good bit of the new album; which by the way I think is the best yet.
I really hope they come back to Ireland soon. They played the Ambassador in Dublin about 18 months ago and it was really amazing- they really are the best live band.

Loved the T set, was immense to hear the crowd during Get Myself Arrested, place was going wild. I dragged a mate along as well who is now a convert and is finally picking up the albums.

Can't wait for you guys to come back over, as long as you's play in either Edinburgh or Glasgow i'll be there.

So, I Tivo'd the Closer the other night and the recording caught a bit of this show called "Saved" which is on just before it. And what do I hear? Beautiful, wonderful Gomez singing "How We Operate". Good to see you guys getting more exposure as it should be. And you know what would be even better?... ... playing a show in LA. You know its between Berkley & San Diego. Come on, you don't need that Matsi-whats-it guy. It'd be good exposure since this is where all those TV/movie people live. And admit it the best American show last time around was at the Avalon, right? right? You know you love it.

Pretty please? *insert groveling here*
